Before the NBA playoffs began, I thought the Oklahoma City Thunder were going to come out firing and beat LA first game of the series. After the first two loses, the Thunder came home to a place who could not have been prouder of their new team. This was the first playoff NBA game ever played in Thunder’s stadium. Man did they show the fans just how happy they are to be this far so quick as a new team. Durant stole the show second half commanding his team unlike any other 21 year old in the league. While the Lakers kept a lead for much of the game, the Thunder made it rain like they were still in Seattle. Durant rose to life when the chips were down along with Westbrook. I loved every single minute of this 4^th quarter. It was close but the Thunder pulled it out when the heat was on. Kobe, you cannot win them all.

Great players shine when the pressure is thick and Durant answered the call by delivering buckets. The Thunder won and I’m sure there are party decorations all over Oklahoma City now. While the Lakers aren’t going to lose this series, Game 3 still meant the first ever Thunder playoff victory amongst screaming fans. I’m not much of a Thunder fan but I’ve loved Durant the minute he was drafted onto the Sonics.

My daughter will be turning 40-years-old this year, and we really wanted to do something exciting and special for her. When my kids were little, I loved to think up birthday theme ideas for their various parties. I think I had the common birthday idea parties for little boys, like pirates, dinosaurs, superheroes and vehicle themes. I would plan adventurous games for the boys before eating and birthday cake. The birthday parties were always a fun and exhausting afternoon. Some people think that once we reach a certain age that we should stop trying to come up with birthday ideas and I think that coming up with birthday ideas doesn’t get really fun until we get a lot older. As we get older, it should be that birthdays become a more precious commodity—just ask the law of supply—and that’s why every birthday should be more fun than the other. I’m not a kid anymore, but when I know my birthday is about to arrive I get out my birthday ideas notebook and start brainstorming about what how my latest birthday should be enjoyed. The cool thing is that I give my mind free reign to come up with the most outrageous birthday ideas and only later will I decide if it’s possible. I mean, some of my birthday ideas lists have had things like a moon landing theme, a fire eater theme which didn’t go very well with anyone and even a paper bag theme—I had no idea what I was doing with that one. However, from all the crazy birthday ideas every once in a while a really good one would pop into my head and walla my birthday idea had arrived. So I say be kind to your shrinking number of birthday and celebrate them with a cool birthday theme.

My best friend is having a her fortieth birthday in a few weeks. Next month, my best friend, Judy will be turning 55-years-old. Judy and I have been best friends for the past thirty years, and we never thought we would become fifty-year-olds, much less...fifty-five. Wow, when we turned "50," we thought we were "over the hill;" however, we didn't feel any older...only slightly slower. So for this birthday, I wanted to do something really special.

I have not been the most creative when it comes to trying to think of a birthdy idea that is worthy of my wife. My family is invited to an Easter brunch/ birthday party for my cousin’s daughter. She will be 13 years old on April 5th. Since Easter is April 4th, my cousin thought why not celebrate both occasions so the whole family can come. My best friend has a small dog, mixed breed, she named "Punk." Now Punk has been with her for about ten years, and she feels he is her baby...

Punk is a really cute dog...and above all, he is a sweet, shy dog. His tenth birthday will be coming up in May, and my friend, Jackie, decided to have a party for Punk. I have found so many wonderful birthday party supplies online. I have several websites saved in my favorites that I use all the time when looking for a birthday theme. Yesterday afternoon right before I was about to put on my jacket and head out of my office and towards home, one of my interns came into my office and said they needed a huge favor. I never like the sound of things when someone asks me for a huge favor, but I paused long enough to listen to what she had to say. She mentioned that she was on the committee for the birthday party for one of the company's partners and she needed not only to come up with a birthday idea, but she also needed to find a place to get birthday party favors.
