I remember when I was a little girl and I first came to understand what party decorations were. My aunt and uncle used to have a party to celebrate each New Year. They always had so many party decorations that it looked, to my young mind, like a totally different house. When I saw their house with all the party decorations up each year it always felt somehow magical to me. New Year at my aunt’s house is something I used to really look forward to as a kid. I know how I reacted to party decorations when I was very little and how special they seemed. That is why I always decorate my home with lots of party decorations over the holidays, at Halloween and whenever one of us has a birthday. I am raising my step-grandchildren and I am hoping that when I put up party decorations for them they get excited and the house feels a little bit magical. I buy my party decorations for less than the standard retail price online so they really aren’t that expensive. I think seeing the look on my grandkids’ faces on special occasions more than justifies the small amount of money spent on party decorations each year.
