Birthday Theme Chosen Three Weeks Before Party |

I love my sister, but the fact that she waits until the last minute to do almost everything drives me absolutely crazy. Months ago she contacted me about helping her come up with a birthday theme for her daughters sweet 16 party. I sent her a birthday theme idea and she didn't like it, but asked me to keep the ideas coming, so I did. I sent her one birthday theme idea after another and she rejected them all for one reason or another. The funny thing was, the birthday theme ideas that I sent her were great ones, and I even talked to my own teenage daughter and her friends about the ideas and they all thought it would be awesome to have a party with any of the birthday theme ideas that I suggested. I finally emailed my sister and told her that I was fresh out of ideas, but that the birthday theme ideas that I'd sent her had been given the thumbs up by my daughter and her friends, and to let me know what she decided. She thanked me, but I never heard another word about the party until two days ago when she called me in a panic.
The date they have set for the party is less than three weeks away and she doesn't have any birthday party supplies or even a birthday theme at this point. She said she was in desperate need for my help and asked if I would look at Shop On Mine whose online store can be found by visiting www.shoponmine.com/ to see if I could get some ideas for a party theme and let her know so we could place an order for birthday party supplies as soon as possible.
I almost told her no because I hate the fact that she chooses to wait until the last minute and then expects everyone to jump through hoops for her. Instead, I said yes, because I know if the party doesn't happen it will be my 16 year old niece who is heartbroken and embarrassed. I told her to leave the birthday theme up to me and to trust me with what I choose. She said she would and I did what I should have done in the first place, I picked up the phone and called her daughter to get her input. She loved every single idea that I'd given to her mom two months ago, so we were able to choose one of those and get the order placed for Fabric Flower 12 ft. Lantern Garland for a Luau theme. Now to get everything else done and pull this party off on time, hopefully without any interference from my sister. |
