Almost Gave Up On Finding a Birthday Theme |

For a while now, I've been attempting to come up with a birthday theme for a 12 year old boy. That particular boy would happen to be my son, and he's at that difficult age when finding a birthday theme could either be the best thing ever, or it could find him extremely embarrassed if the birthday theme didn't seem cool enough to him and his group of friends. It has been a fine line that I've been walking trying to sort out the theme idea, and I was almost to the point of tossing the birthday theme idea all together when my brilliant daughter suggested that I have a movie theme. I'd never even considered that idea, and it was a great one. My son and all his friends love movies, and I knew that was a birthday theme that I could really work with.
I went online and started looking for birthday party supplies to go along with the theme, and it wasn't long before I'd found everything I needed at Shop On Mine whose online store you can find by visiting www.shoponmine.com. I actually was able to order all of the birthday party supplies like this 8-inch high by 8-inch diameter Hollywood centerpiece that I think I'll need at once, and now all I have left to do is actually do the decorating when the time comes, plus decide whether we are going to have cakes or cupcakes. I think that cupcakes may be a better idea, since it's built in portion control, plus they are just easier than having to stand and slice cake, but I'll probably get my sons input on that and choose whichever one that he prefers.
My daughter also suggested that we order some birthday party supplies that look like mini Oscars and we can use them as decorations or give them to the kids when they leave. Since the birthday theme is movies, I think that would be a cute idea, so I may actually go back and see if I can find some. I am also going to be thinking about ways that I can incorporate that into maybe a music trivia, where the person who gets the most right wins the Oscar or something like that. I know this is something that is right up my sons alley, and keeping with the movie theme, I think we'll give him a DVD player of his own this year as his birthday gift. He will love that and it may just be the thing that rates this party off the hook, to use my son's words. |
