Next month, my best friend, Judy will be turning 55-years-old.  Judy and I have been best friends for the past thirty years, and we never thought we would become fifty-year-olds, much less...fifty-five.  Wow, when we turned "50," we thought we were "over the hill;" however, we didn't feel any older...only slightly slower.  So for this birthday, I wanted to do something really special.

I wanted to have a birthday theme that would compliment her personality and still show her a the young spirited woman she is.  Having a great birthday idea recommended to me was my last hope.  So, I went online searching for an ecommerce store that carried  birthday party supplies and offered outstanding, unusual ideas.  In doing this search, I found Shop On Mine located at http://www.shoponmine.com/.  This internet site proved to be a doorway to exactly the information I was looking for. 

I came across the birthday theme for a "Night at the Museum" birthday theme, and everyone would be encouraged to dress formally, come to the rented location which was decorated as a historic museum, and enjoy the wine, food and music.  We were even able to locate a band to play "oldies," and the historic items on display were from the 50's and 60's.  Of course, those were the best years of our lives, and there was no shortage of birthday party supplies or getting the right birthday party favors to complete the scenario.  I invited 55 of our friends, family and co-workers, and everyone accepted.  What an exciting time we had decorating the place.  The best party decorating was the high school annuals and the updated "Superlatives."  We made new ribbons and selected the top winners.  Of course, my friend won "Best All Around Female," and her husband was the "Best All Around Male."  We also had "Most Improved," "Best Gray Hair," "Most Grandchildren," and "Most Likely To Succeed...at Being Healthy." 

Overall, the party was such a hit, some of the attenders are planning similar parties for their friends.  Although we were on a budget, the online store we found had the best discount prices of the birthday party supplies, and the birthday party favors were available too.  However, some of the decorations were part of our own heritage.  Everyone loved the birthday theme, and everyone danced to the music.  Even the D.J. joined in on the fun.  Was it a successful night?  Can a catfish swim???  Does a big wheel roll???
