Every year, my wife and I will start to plan out different and unique birthday ideas for the kids. Ever since our first daughter was born we couldn't wait for their birthdays to get here. In the seventeen years we've been doing this, and with three kids, we have had a lot of birthday ideas. Last month, we were looking through some pictures and starting looking through one of the many photo albums that are dedicated to the kids birthday parties. It was a blast remembering all the different birthday ideas.

One in particular stood out among the others as one of my favorites. It was just a few years ago, and it was for my son who was turning six years old. We both love NASCAR racing and I knew that a NASCAR theme would be a hit. My wife and I started putting down some birthday ideas for the party and I was really getting excited. The birthday ideas contained a race, trophies, pinata, racing themed decorations and party favors.

When we come up with the birthday ideas, we make it a rule to think big. When we first started talking about the NASCAR birthday theme, it just started to take on a life all of its own. While we were at the site we actually got a few more birthday ideas while looking for party favors and decorations for the NASCAR theme.

One of the things that we had discussed was a pinata in the shape of a race car. We didn't know if there was such a thing, but soon found one at Shop On Mine. They had a Race Car Pinata that was in the same color, and number of Dale Jr., who is my son's favorite driver. We ordered it and couldn't wait to see the kids pounding on it for their candy. The day of the party was a lot of fun. We had little race cars, and I built a race track for them to race the cars down. We even handed out trophy's, that we got from Shop On Mine. The pinata has a huge hit. Both figuratively and literally! I like the other birthday ideas we have had, but this one has a special place in my memory.
