I have always wondered what it feels like to have a birthday on another holiday. One of my friends has his 25th birthday on November 26th. When he told me this he said it just like that. It didn’t register at first but then I realized that’s Thanksgiving. By default, he is going to have a birthday feast but then I started brainstorming birthday ideas to add to Turkey Day. We both live out of state from our parents and are not going home for the holidays. So we are planning on spending Thanksgiving and his birthday together with a few other friends who are staying in town.
His girlfriend already said he doesn’t have to worry about doing any of the cooking. For the sake of our taste buds, that’s a fantastic idea. I plan to buy him some of his favorite imported beer and party decorations. Past that, some party decorations amongst the fall colors are in order. I think watching football, drinking and bringing out a cake after Thanksgiving dinner will work for birthday ideas. He is a pretty easy friend to please so good food, good drink, a decent football game (Lions are the worst) and good friends should make a memorable Thanksgiving/Birthday.
