I've always teased my daughter and told her that her love of hearts comes from the fact that she was born in February and supposed to be a Valentine's baby. Things didn't quite happen that way, and instead of being born on February 14th, she was born a week earlier, but it has always amazed me at just how much my daughter loves hearts.

This year, February will be even more special than usual, because she'll be celebrating her 16th birthday. I have been looking at party decorations for months trying to come up with a few birthday themes that would make this time in her life even more special. It seems only fitting that I would choose birthday themes that in some form or fashion include hearts. After all, I think people would be surprised to come to my daughters 16th birthday and not see any heart related party decorations.

Once I was able to get the party decorations out of the way, I knew that I needed to find some birthday party favors, which could end up proving to be a little more on the difficult side. I know, with it being the month of love, it would be easy enough to find heart shaped goodies, but I wanted something that wasn't related to Valentine's Day, and instead something more personalized for my daughters special day. My daughter knows about her party, but what she doesn't know is how the decorating and everything else surrounding the party is going to be done. She knows there is a heart theme, but that's as far as it goes. She's in charge of putting together the invitation list, and the rest she'll see on the day of her party. I've had all the party decorations sent to her aunt's home, that way she can't see them before she's supposed to. I can't wait to see how it all pulls together.
