Starting Monday, the official start to winter begins. The mountains have already opened up in most places but the snowpack is nowhere near where it will be come January and February. This is high time for snowboarders and skiers. Watching awesome videos like the one attached below really makes me wish I had gotten better at the sport of snowboarding. One of my friends loves it and has a birthday on January 15th. He came over the other day, board in hand trying to get us to hit the mountain with him this past Tuesday. He had just picked up a brand new, super nice, ultra light board he needed to break in.
I was thinking of birthday themes for him and snowboarding just makes sense. There are plenty of snow inspired party decorations on the web. I have since been trying to think of other snowboard birthday ideas. What I have come up with is frosty party decorations, everyone comes in snow gear, a DVD like the one above plays on the TV and I already have a playlist of great songs from classic snowboard movies. The next step is getting a mountain shaped cake.
