One of my roommate’s friends threw a low key birthday party about 9 days ago. It was right in the middle of the workweek, I think a Wednesday so he didn’t really want to go out and then regret it the next morning bright and early. He loves movies and came up with birthday themes to go along with that. I never been to his place but apparently he created his own little screening room buy pulling shades over the living room windows, positioning some comfy couches, wiring a home theater system and mounting a projector.
They had a holiday movie marathon of shorts with flicks including Bad Santa, Love Actually and Elf. The party decorations were the generic type; streamers and balloons. What they did have is a lot of popcorn of all varieties and candy like what you would find in a concession stand. It sounded like a lot of fun. Not all birthday ideas have to break the bank. They also had alcohol, something we don’t see in normal theaters. That is a change I am ready to deal with.
